Map, Compass & GPS Navigation

A group of hikers huddles to read their map and compass.Treks into the backcountry where the spotted fawns play and the hawks soar are among life's great joys. Having the tools and experience to accurately use topographic maps, compasses and GPS units can add to the relaxation. Come discover just how much fun it is to navigate yourself in, around, and out of the backcountry...regardless of the weather or time of day.

Topics include:

  • How to read map and compass
  • Establishing waypoints
